Urban New Territories Tour: Uncovering Hidden Gems in Tsuen Wan
Did you know that close to 50% of the Hong Kong population lives in the New Territories? There is so much to explore in this area besides wetlands, parks and mountains. Get an insider’s perspective by experiencing the everyday life of a New Territories resident yourself!
During the first part of your New Territories tour, we travel back in time and delve deep into history at Sam Tung UK Museum. More than a museum, you’ll discover how indigenous villagers used to live in this 200 year-old restored walled village!
Thereafter, take a short ride on Hong Kong’s iconic minibus and join us to visit the tranquil grounds of Yuen Yuen Institute. Here, your enthusiastic tour guide will provide a brief introduction of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, as well as further explain how these principles and traditions matter to Hong Kong people today.
Finally, to immerse you in an authentic Hong Kong environment, we head to modern Tsuen Wan Town Center to learn about the everyday life of a local. You will also have the chance to eat like a local too. Be prepared to be introduced to Hong Kong’s amazing street food culture, such as fishballs, egg waffles and tofu pudding!

Additional Notes
- The tour price does not include public transportation. Please expect to spend around HK$12 on the Green Mini-buses.
- This tour does not include nor stop for lunch. Hence we advise you to have a good breakfast before turning up for the tour.
- Please note that this tour involves walking (approximately 5km or 3.1 miles) and taking the Green Mini-buses. As such, if you have any mobility issue, this tour is not suitable for you.
